Roll Top Desks

I have recently started noticing how much  I love and want a roll top desk.  I love both the look and functionality the provide.  They are just a unique piece of furniture, from the dainty legged ones to the big heavy boxier type with all those wonderful little cubbies! Who could possibly pass up cubbies??? Take a look:)

My Thrifty Finds

As I have said, I LOVE to go to thrifting and see what I can find.  The possibilities are always endless.  I like to think of it as my own personal treasure hunt for a diamond in the rough.  I do have my favorite stores at which I shop regularly and Monday I went on an extravaganza and hit several of them before picking up the kids from school and here are my finds.


This lovely headboard... Sorry about the bad lighting but I think you can get the idea of how pretty it is anyway.  I have a feeling you will be seeing it in an entirely different light in the near future if you know what I mean (que evil laugh) hahaha!!    $45

I picked this table with the cute legs up for $20.  I came with three leafs that you can see to the side of it.

I thought this hanging lamp was just so different that I had to have it.  Yes, yes I know the shade is ugly but that is just a minor complication right?!

I loved these whimsical domes on these pendent lights.   $3.25

and this fisherman type light being modeled by the sweet, squishy baby is probably my favorite find of the day!  I was sooo excited the moment I spotted it, but the globe that went to it met an unfortunate end as I was trying to get the babies in the car.  The bag slipped from my fingers and crashed to the parking lot.  I was so sad:(   $5

Hi, I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself to the blogging world!  My name is Johnna, I am married and am mommy to 4 kiddos that keep me very busy!  In my spare time I love to pick through thrift stores and turn average things into beautiful things.  I am ALWAYS plotting a project or two and yes, I am proud to say that I am completely and hopelessly design/craft/project/ DIY OBSESSED!!! We have been in our home for the last three years.and did not start working on it until a couple months ago.  I have loved every minute since we started redesigning our home, but my poor husband... not so much. We have completely opposite taste and he hasn't quite found the uh-hmm... appreciation I have for my (as he calls it) "old stuff" that I sometimes bring home.  I often remind him that I'm the designer and he is the contractor but sometimes he overrides me anyway. Despite our differences in taste, I have faith that it with turn out beautifully and will fit us perfectly.  I am very excited to share our journey with you, I'm sure it will be a fun interesting one! So please take your shoes off and stay a while!
